The National Trail Fire Department was founded in 1958 by the community and National Trail Post (American Legion) 756. The station opened Thanksgiving Day, Nov 25th, 1958. The original department was a 3 bay station, housing one pumper, one pickup and a tanker. The first Chief was Howard Patterson.
